The Light on the Citadel pt3 [Lovecraftian Journey]
egoDEATH films presents a Lovecraftian journey.
“The most merciful thing in the world is the inability of the mind to correlate all its contents.”
Dr Raoul Crawford continues his journey on Captain Legrasse’s ship, yet the piecing together of disassociated knowledge is opening up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that he feels certain that he will go mad from the revelations, [like witnessing the rise of R’lyeh] or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age!
“We live on a placid Island Of Ignorance in the midst of Black Seas of Infinity.”
The doctor also bears witness to a dread cult, one that has existed in one form or another for millennia: “That cult would never die till those stars were right again.” The cult is manipulated through a mode of speech that was transmitted thought! Thoughts of the Great Old Ones – who orchestrate an over populated earth for a vast orgy of violence and murder.
“That is not dead which can eternal lie and with strange aeons even death may die.” H.P. Lovecraft
All the doctor knew for certain was that his experiences, and those things he saw, were nothing of this or any sane planet. Will we see the doctors mind unhinged by non-eucidian angles? Of shapes and forms loathsomely redolent of spheres and dimensions apart from ours?
